Spooky Halloween Nails!

For this Halloween mani I used the nailstickers I showed you in yesterday's post and, ofcourse, Eyeko-Vampira polish! Oooooooh, scary....! I just love the "graveyard effect" of the crosses, and the cute little ghosts and pumpkins. I also have some nice stickers with bats, but they're black, so I couldn't use them over this black polish. I'll save those for my next Halloween mani(tomorrow?). XO

This is why I love ebay so much...

I love ebay because you can find little treasures like these nailstickers for just a few bucks! I know Halloween is not celebrated here in Holland, but I just love the decorations! I prepared a pumpkin soup yesterday, and we decided to make a Jack-o out of it:)

This is what I'm currently wearing on my nails, China Glaze-Foxy plus Konad :)

Esie-Sew Psyched halloween style:)

Sew Psyched on its own:

This is 2 coats of Essie-Sew Psyched, plus Good To Go topcoat. I think Sew Psyched, a nice khaki green, perfectly fits in with the latest Chanel Craze "Les Khakis". If you like the look, but don't want to spend more than 20 bucks on a nailpolish, Sew Psyched might be what you're searching for.
I added some mysterious "Halloween Cat" waterslide decals, which I found on ebay last year, to complete my manicure. I'm a dog person, but for nails cats are fine. (which doesn't mean I don't love cats, I love all animals, I just don't understand cats!)

Essie-Mink Muffs + Essence Stampy Skulls

I had a cold, a very bad one, but I'm back.
Today I'm wearing 2 coats of Essie-Mink Muffs, with some very cute skulls from one of the Essence stampy plates. The skulls' eyes are heart shaped, sweet! Unfortunately, the design became a little blurry after applying topcoat. (in the pics it looks worse than it actually is!)
About Mink Muffs I can be very short: L.O.V.E.!I'm going to wear this delicious milk-chocolate shade a lot, I'm sure.

Crackling Polish!

This is 2 coats of P2-Flamboyant, 1 coat of P2 crackling polish, and 1 coat of Essie Good 2 Go.
This would be a nice manicure for Halloween, right? Too bad we don't celebrate Halloween in Europe...

This is 2 coats of Ciaté-Fade To Greige, a delicious rich shade of "greige", plus some lovely waterslide decals by Viva La Nails. I sealed the decals with Essie Good To Go topcoat.
The result is very clean and chic, I'm loving this combination!XO!

Nail Rock Designer Wraps Gold Lace

After reading my previous post , in which I told you I had some problems with lifting of the nail wraps at the free edge of my nails, Nail Rock contacted me because they were convinced I could get better results with a few little tricks.
So, I followed the instructions again (you can check those in my previous post)but this time I did the following to prevent lifting at the free edge:
I heated the wrap again, and than pulled it over the free edge, until the free edge slightly appeared through the wrap. After that I started filing the excess wrap off.(in a downward motion!) Et voilá, as you can see in the second pic, this time I managed to apply the wrap tightly around the nail! Now this is what I expected when I ordered these the first time!
The design (gold lace)is breathtakingly beautiful...a true eyecatcher.

You do need to take your time to apply these, as it's important to adjust the size of the wraps to your nails; if they are too big on the sides they'll start lifting there, so leave a little space along the cuticle line. It took me almost an hour to apply this set, but I have to admit I was a little distracted by a t.v. show;).
You can get these wraps on Asos.com, and for more info you can check Nail Rock's site.
Have a lovely weekend everyone!XO

Nail Rock Designer Wraps: Leopard Skin

Edit 02/10/2010: I gave it another try, and had more succes this time!Click Here to see the results!

Edit 29/09/2010: The owner of Nail Rock read this review, and gave me some tips and tricks on how to get a better result, and prevent lifting. He offered me a new set of wraps, to try again. I hope to show you the results within the coming 2 weeks!

I spotted these Nail Wraps on Asos.com, and thought I might give it a try. I picked the Leopard Skin design, which looked most attractive to me.

This is how it works:
HOW TO NAIL ROCK:
1- Gently ease cuticle back and remove any nail polish.
2- Shape and file the nail edge.
3- Gently remove surface shine using a nail buffer or a smooth nail file.
4- Select Nail Rock Wrap nearest your Cuticle size. These can be trimmed to fit if needed.
5- Do not touch the adhesive side of the wrap that will be used on your nail.
6- Gently place at cuticle edge and apply heat from a small or travel
Hairdryer for a few seconds until the wrap begins to soften. ASOS mini hairdryer
7- Applying firm pressure, push the wrap onto one side of the nail bed. Re-apply heat and repeat on the other side.
8- Re-apply heat and push firmly over the entire nail for a secure fit. If there is a crease; re-heat, gently lift the wrap off the
nail and reapply adding further heat if necessary.
9- File off excess wrap at the end of the nail in a downward motion with a fine wooden file.
This is what you get:

I followed the instructions exactly as they are written, but I didn't get what I expected! The wraps started lifting at my tips! Now everytime I use my hands, it starts peeling off a little more. I thought these would be foil-like, but they're more like stickers. And they look like stickers as well.

The result, seen from a distance, is pretty cool. It's impossible to achieve this perfect leopard skin design with stamping or hand painted nail art.
I'd say these are fun for a night out, but I don't believe they'll last up to 10 days, as is written in the description. The price is also a bit too high in my opinion: 8,60 euro for 24 stickers for hand and feet.
I'm curious about the new nail stickers by Essence, and I wonder if they're similar to Nail Rock Wraps. The Essence ones are sold for 1,99 euro, which is quite a bit cheaper. Anyway, soon I'll let you know how long these lasted on my nails:). Have a good weekend everyone!xo
Edit: I removed the wraps a after a few hours of wear, because they started to look messy, and the lifting at my tips started to irritate me. Such a pity!

Guest manicure and pedicure with Viva La Nails.

My neighbour's hands:

And feet:

Today I did my neighbour's manicure and pedicure. She's 59 years old, but starts to appreciate nailpolish and nailart more and more, that's really cool.
On her hands she's wearing Cuccio Naturalé soak off gel in Berry Berry Nice, topped with Ice Ice Baby (also Cuccio). She picked out some very pretty stickers from Viva La Nails. These are so easy to work with! You just stick 'em on, apply a topcoat and that's all. So elegant!
For her pedicure she chose China Glaze-2Nite, some rhinestones, and again some lovely flowers from Viva La Nails.
Thanx for looking!

Viva La Nails Pedicure!

I finally had a little moment to play with my Viva La Nails sample pack. First, I applied 2 coats of Essie-Material Girl: A lovely dark, moody vampy polish.
Than, I added these cute little flower stickers; LOVE! I've tried many stickers, but these are the best so far: they don't break! Finally!'I didn't like flower stickers, because the leaves always fell of before I could stick 'em on my nails, but these are strong!Yay!And the stickers are flexible, so they take the shape of your nails, and stay that way.
As a finishing touch I used some of the large, round, fuchsia coloured glitter spangles. They sparkle like crazy, but unfortunately I wasn't able to capture that on camera.
I applied a coat of my (our) beloved Seche Vite to seal the nail-art, and I was ready to go! If you like an easy and quick mani/pedi with some nice nail-art, I think these items are perfect for you! Viva La Nails has a wide variety of inexpensive nail products, so I'm sure there's a design/style for all of us "picky nail-freaks":).

Handpainted Nail-Art

Here I am again!I'm better, and full of energy!
This weekend I had the patience to do a little handpainted nail-art, and here is the (not very clear) result. The base is P2-Artful, and I used acrylic paint and Art Club's for the painting. (why are my thumbs never in the pics?? I just started to notice this!)

Weekend Manicure: Lace and Rhinestones!

Mijn weekend manicure! Opi-The Thrill Of Brazil+ Konad M80 lace+ Rhinestones.

My weekend manicure! Opi-The Thrill Of Brazil+ Konad M80 lace+ Rhinestones. I like it a lot, but it would look better on longer nails. This makes my nails look shorter than they actually are.
Have a nice weekend everyone! I'm going to visit a Beauty Trade Fair, or should I say..paradise;).

Nude Spike Swarovski Mani...

Sally Hansen No Chip 10 Day Nail Color-Infinite Natural: 2 laagjes. De spikes heb ik gemaakt met Color Club's Art Club-Black.

I got the inspiration for this manicure from the october 2009 issue of Russian Cosmopolitan Beauty.(no, I do not speak russian, but everytime we're in Moscow I buy a few fashion and beauty magazines, for the pictures!) I gave it my own, favorite twist: Swarovski;).
Sally Hansen No Chip 10 Day Nail Color-Infinite Natural: 2 coats. For the spikes I used Color Club's Art Club-Black.
